This whole bead business had turned into such a
whirlwind for me, I just can’t believe this is happening…I am so excited!!
When I was little, I always wanted to be a famous painter…an alive one that
is..LOL! I used to paint oils, acrylics and watercolor paintings, I think
that’s where I found my passion with color and design.
I guess the bead
thing started when I bought an elastic and lampwork bead bracelet from a
friend of a friend and paid 40 dollars for it. It was pretty and unique and
the lady that made it was trying to keep up with her orders. Since I was on a
budget and Christmas was coming up I thought of making some bracelets for
gifts, so I went down to the local bead store and got busy! They were a huge
hit and someone suggested I make and sell them. I started shopping around the
internet for cheaper supplies that were good quality and came across someone
that made lampwork beads. I would buy sets off of them and make jewelry, then
I got to thinking…hmmm…are these beads hard to make?
I checked around
our area and found a Saturday morning bead course for only 40 dollars…what a
deal! I loved it so much I didn’t want to leave, I ended up buying the starter
kit right then! The rest is history as they
say!
